The aim of this comparative study is to analyse gender violence in relation to sentences and restraining measures from a comparative context between the legislation in force in Ecuador, Chile and Colombia. The current scientific article was developed from an epistemological conception of critical rationalism and from a descriptive documentary methodology with bibliographic design, supported by the analytical-synthetic method and the technique of legal documentary analysis, the population consisted of 25 scientific articles. It is concluded that there are significant differences in the effectiveness of the policies implemented in each country. The need for greater harmonisation of legal frameworks is highlighted, as well as greater coordination between authorities in order to guarantee more effective protection for victims of gender-based violence. As a main recommendation, it is suggested that unified protocols for action be implemented to address this problem in a comprehensive and efficient manner.
