Relationship between ergonomic malpractice and risk of occupational musculoskeletal injury [Relación entre mala práctica ergonómica y riesgo de lesiones musculoesqueléticas laborales]

The objective of this research is to identify the ergonomic risks and the prevalence of musculoskeletal injuries among health workers in the District Directorate 14D06 Health, city of Santiago de Méndez, Province of Morona Santiago. The scope of the study was descriptive with a non-experimental design, describing ergonomic aspects and musculoskeletal disorders. The study universe comprised a total of 20 people, made up of 9 women and 11 men. Musculoskeletal discomfort was identified as being most common in the lower back, followed by the neck, upper back and shoulder; being considerable to establish prevention on ergonomic risks, such as repetitive movements, inadequate postures and stressful conditions, are related to the development of MSDs, which highlights the importance of identifying and controlling these risks in the work environment.
